Wishing You A Magical New Year!

With my moon-bud hand clutched to my chest I vowed at the start of the year
That Reunions I would seek, to tell stories sincere
Of friends and family and those waylaid stars blown hard to avaricious gales
I would find them once more and lead them safe passage to tales
With my steadfast pen, and that is what I have brought to thee in 2015
Tilled the rock earth of Your soul, thy heart’s river banks doused in green
Of many shores, faces and even bears found their way to my strawberry beacon
And not a picture or word have You missed, hunted everything with eyes of a Mohican
Ah, it has been an oceanic pleasure to know that You have read them all
I made You smile, joy flew through Your throat’s moist rainfall
In others You wept, for You wished to hold my hands and tell me with eyes:
Mazzy, I have been there too, the crow’s black angles terrorise
I lost the world like You did once and the maw of a hole I carry too
Bish-bash-bosh I say to those slimy shadows and arc I do my mucky shoe
The Sunrise is a God of stubbornness and it trumpets life each morn
And I soon return to You the following day with a story as gold as corn
I am a natural pilgrim of Light and I have taken oath to be Your Ray
A farmer girl from a distant land, I write on a stringy bale of hay
No other riches can I offer thee beside the craft of the story that dervishes my pen
Your face denied but I hear You shout, with thumbs up, “ten out of ten!
One thing You crave for but You say not for fear of recrimination
Is that You desire to have me peek out from the new moon, the leniency of a Magician
Oh dear You, remember I live in the faces of all those whom I photograph?
You know my policy on selfies even though You scoff at it and laugh!
But this evening is an exception, the last one of a year that’s proved to be a citrus blast
And so I fling my cape to one side and untie the policies that I had cast
I woke up this morning, the storm abated and the dawn Light jewelled the air
In rose red jumper I twirled and bathwater still glistening in my hair
I smiled into the mirror and knew just how to wrap this year in funny socks
I wished that Your face be the last face this year that I capture in my Magic Box…. ♥♥♥

Say “CHEERS“! Giggle, giggle!

The Story Of The Red Berries Tied On A String

To My Faithful Reader & My Unknown Goofy-Toothed Admirer ♥

I can sense so strongly and perceptively the eyes of so many of you waiting to see what I would write tonight. Ah, just look at all these curious eyes, secretly watching for me to birth new Words into the fertile womb of the screen… :))

I have only just returned to the virtual world and find myself swaying in the great swathe of an AMAZING ALLIANCE denoted by the tricolour flag of France. What a wonderful visual confirmation of the solidarity of our commitment to a world that strives for peace, equal rights and intolerance to injustice to humanity. I was compelled to follow down the same path and opt to do as others have done but I shall not. I am barely on Facebook. Instead I chose to employ my artistic palette to my expression of grief but a grief that has not compromised my deeply embedded sense of Hope. I sat down and closed my eyes and prayed to God to guide me in this darkest and shadow-infested hour. It was restored into my remembrance that this kind of horrific burden and tragic reality is endured every day and every night by people in other parts of this world. Here in England I live. Over there, they must survive. What an universe of a difference exists in those two words alone.

As the mists of indecisiveness parted gradually in my mind I saw what I had to create. Something deceptively simple, by any standard, and yet which accurately captured my Vision of an ALLIANCE built upon the principle of humanitarianism and a core value that celebrates the common thread that runs through us all irrespective of where we began our roots on this earth. The Children In Need Star Wars sketch was aired about the same time as the dreadful Paris attacks mounted and I will thus interpret this timing as an affirmation that if Darkness pervades, Light too has risen from its soporific horizon… :))

Evil is not born. Evil is indoctrinated. Good is not born. Good is inspired.

A GOOD ALLIANCE seeks eternally to inspire… ♥

The Fabric Of Pace-I’m Continuum

Tongues distilled from the wombs of hot honeycomb
Chilled by unseen cool spring streams
Of evening’s darkening touch of velvet veil
They lay in huddled heaps like prized thoughts of a diarist
A boudoir of spontaneous natural intimacy that could be crushed with satisfaction
To cook compost for next year’s life
Yet in the craving grid of that fisherman’s net
Bulged by mass of leaf
I saw how telescopes were but creaking distractions…

"... They lay in huddled heaps like thoughts of a diarist A boudoir of spontaneous natural intimacy that could be crushed with satisfaction..."

To Annette: A Bit Of Idol Worship!

I secured the vow to myself long ago that if the camera was indeed to be my accomplice in life, in tow with the pen, that I would deploy this magical piece of gizmo to celebrate the stories of the people who inhabit or, by happenstance, enter my universe. Never to promote or popularise my own face, in time my humble camera soon became the teacher of selfless action, a non-intrusive means to perform the spiritual exercise of abstaining from at least one of the indulgences of the ego. What followed was a double sense of blessing as it soon came upon me that I levitated with immeasurable joy whenever the opportunity arose to recite and archive, in pictures and words, the story of those dear to me, and, of course, not in any degree less so for those souls that, by fated force, crossed my path in the journey.

A most treasured, dearest friend and Fairy Godmother, Annette, is one such soul whom my camera has defiantly promised to always seek, for Annette is a goldmine for painting the sort of portraiture that overthrows the slightest slivers of despair or sadness away from the mind of the viewer. Annette never ceases to amaze me with her infectious sense of humour, firework charisma and incandescent optimism. In short, and to my pride and joy, she is my idol, a figure that awes and inspires and I pray that even when I reach her golden age I am able to carry that same magnitude of citrusy zest for life and share it with others, as she has done so for me.

If You ever feel the need to shake hands with the person responsible for putting the edge into my cheeky eccentricity and who sealed my Destiny as the 5ft 1 hobbitina that happily suffers from an irreversible bout of eternal optimism then, here is your saintly culprit: Ladies, Gentlemen and Children, please give a round of an applause to my Star Idol, Annette… :)) :)) :))

37 Going Gloriously Down To 9!

My Dearest & Most Beloved Fan Number One!

I thought I would never have to spurt such a phrase given my tortoise-inspired way of life, but, I am ‘short of time’ today here in the virtual world (stop being silly, it is not a reference to what one wears below the torso!), for there is yet another party awaiting my tummy and the auspicious thunderous rattle of my shaking hips! GIGGLE, GIGGLE! As a consequence of my limited time on the laptop I have not had a chance to prepare another photograph from my steamy adventures – Oi, cut out the rude thoughts, we have Children in the audience! In its place I present to You on this fantastically sunny day a jovial portrait of my friend’s daughter, Little Miss A. The rationale behind my choice of image is as simple as ABC: Though I turn 37 today, I have made a successful U-turn to 9! Ageing for me is going forwards in body and backwards in soul!

I wish to take the immense joy I feel in living up to this far and send it out to You, praying that my jasmine-scented envelope settles in the parts of Your heart that need it most. I shall endeavour to post at least one more article tomorrow before I take my leave from the virtual world to embark on a new and grand adventure to distant shores… :))

Your candle under the stars,
Mazzy x

Best Friend T-Shirt girl, Little Miss A, a rising star of theatre and dance
Never one to stay still, forever on the hop – skip – and prance
But since my friend and I are of the same short height, as You can see
Taking pictures at her eye-level is as easy as ABC…!!!

Thomas Has Arrived! My Number One Fan!

Only a matter of hours left before the clock strikes twelve midnight and the wacky, super jolly birthday celebrations take on full swing at my household so it is elegantly justified that I should post for You tonight a snazzy photograph of my Number One Fan pulling up in front of my house in the most stylish attire a man could ever don: A dapper Krishna blue suit, rose red trimmings, finished off with an impeccable pair of trousers affectionately reminiscent of the green rice paddies of my Homeland! Oh Thomas, my heart, You are without reservation one spectacularly flawless engine when it comes to wooing a tomboy off her feet! Giggle, giggle! :))

EPILOGUE:  Ah, yes, of course, let me explain the nature of the ‘Please Note’ Sign. I pinned it to the gates with a Message for the guests. What do You suppose I might have written on it? We play this game in class to build up our faculty of imagination. Let us see what suggestions You come up with – I request that One refrains from the submission of rude answers, please, otherwise You shall forfeit an irreversible flattening treatment which will involve submerging Your fragile body under the Fat Controller’s mammoth-sized bottom! Ouchy, wouchy!

MY DESTINY’S LINK: 15th August – 15th August…  :))

A Pre-Birthday Bash With My Sunshine Mate, Katie!

In the groovy run-up to my birthday I have been the pampered recipient of many invitations for tea and luncheon by friends, treating both my platter and tummy with delicious elixirs of steaming plumes of tea duly accompanied with formidable side-kicks of spongy cakes and buckets of chips! Ah, this is the high life for me, indeed! It just so happened that yesterday I had the monumental pleasure of hanging out with my loveliest of lovely friends, Katie!

The Jewel In The Peacock's Feather, My Mate Katie!

“… It is folly to even employ the service of words to describe this precious gem of effervescent spirit…”

It is folly to even employ the service of words to describe this precious gem of effervescent spirit! Katie is, without any doubt, regarded by all things bright – like our Sun – as a candidate of envious contempt because her Light would quite easily outshine every competition in the field! Energetic, animated, globe-trotter, fierce, generous, fizzy, articulate, witty, intelligent, outspoken, dramatic, independent and heavenly prepossessing, Katie is truly a sister of my heart and though she is a Virgo, her mannerisms and charisma match those of a blazing Leonine Queen of the Jungle! Sound familiar? Giggle, giggle!

When Two Firecrackers Get Together, My Mate Katie!

“… Energetic, animated, globe-trotter, fierce, generous, fizzy, articulate, witty, intelligent, outspoken, dramatic, independent and heavenly prepossessing, Katie is truly a sister of my heart and though she is a Virgo, her mannerisms and charisma match those of a blazing Leonine Queen of the Jungle! Sound familiar? Giggle, giggle!”

When the two of us get together I swear swarms of grey clouds, airs of monotony, and the soul of silence itself drop their baggage and shoot off elsewhere in scurried panic! Our combined laughter and infamous naughty prankish inclinations sends out radiation reinforced with the protonic essence of Haribos, beaming out in every direction, including those yet to be calibrated in the standard issue compass! We simply cannot withstand having anyone before us looking morose and crestfallen, our 24/7 modus operandi is to always strive to spark colour and life into our surroundings, wherever we go!

A Homestead In Vigil, My Mate Katie

“… We simply cannot withstand having anyone before us looking morose and crestfallen, our 24/7 modus operandi is to always strive to spark colour and life into our surroundings, wherever we go!”

Rendezvous arranged in Nicola’s Café, Katie lavished on me the red carpet package after a little claw fight ensued before the till point in which my insistence to pay was overruled by Katie’s argument that it was my birthday treat and that I should just shut up and let her do the honours! I obeyed! Meowwww!! How the three solid hours passed thereafter only God knows, we switched many tales and spoke of our individual creative aspirations and, occasionally the uncontrollable burst of roaring chuckles shook the life out of the waitresses! All in all, I had a thoroughly enjoyable time of it and it is a constant source of heartwarming delight to know that there are people in this world who share the same Vision as my own, who want to make a lasting difference in the lives of others, handing down the pen of self-sufficiency so that the line of authorship is never broken. In short, we are the Advocates of Good Magic… :))

The Lady With An Angel Heart, My Mate Katie

In short, we are the Advocates of Good Magic… “

EPILOGUE: My humblest of gratitude to the winds of Destiny for blessing me with yet another serendipitous account of perfect timing because I am overjoyed to be presenting my photographic journal with Katie on this day since tonight the skies over my Home shall see the magnificence of a theatrical show of Lights to equal the Light that shines within my good friend. Named after one of my favourite heroes of Greek mythology, Perseus, who famously saved Andromeda from the sea monster Cetus, The Perseids Meteor Shower, should not be missed! To the uninterested eye they shall appear as debris, only the Ones with Magic dancing in their pupils shall want to believe that I have sent them a Message penned in the ink of stars… :))

A Study Of My Uncle’s Tea-Shirt!

No, no Rana Mama (Uncle), you have got it all wrong and twisted and misshapen! Diesel does not make for successful living (T-shirt slogans are hugely telling of one’s dispositions)! Wellington boots, violins, books, tea and silver moonlight win me any day but the smoothie sludge of fossilised creatures, I do not think so! Get with the programme, Mama! I shall acquit you this time round since you are doing a most marvellous job in this photograph at making two very fine ladies smile as if they are welcoming a national hero back to the homestead! Close shave Mama, close shave!

P.S. To those who read my previous post, does it not look like as if the luscious vine pattern from our red Chinese teapot has magically teleported and boisterously spread itself across my Aunty’s living room wall….? :))

Mulled Wine: The 123-Word Short Story Series

Presenting a bite-size morsel of storytelling magic that shall refrain from tipping over 123 words…

Mulled wine is a seasonal concoction popular in England and brewed of red wine or fruit juice which is mulled with festive spices such as cloves, grated nutmeg, cinnamon and orange peel. On this particular day I purchased a little cup of the fruity variety whilst admiring the decorative opulence of the stall. Dwarfishly fat wooden barrels and huge brass cauldrons partnered with shiny long-necked ladles had me thoroughly entranced on the spot!

Mulled Wine

“Dwarfishly fat wooden barrels and huge brass cauldrons partnered with shiny long-necked ladles had me thoroughly entranced on the spot…”

It was a little after the queue had died down that I noticed something most curious. The lady vendor had frozen completely, enwrapped in some unreachable private thought – indeed, she was mulling over something and I can tell you for certain that it was not the contents in the pot…

Mulling Vendor

“The lady vendor had frozen completely, enwrapped in some unreachable private thought – indeed, she was mulling over something and I can tell you for certain that it was not the contents in the pot…”

Note. In English the infinitive verb of ‘to mull’ means to be in a state of deep thinking.
