My Warrior Of Light

The One whom my soul longs for, my worship a river’s fixedness towards his sea
Is not a master of muscles famed for his figure, obsessed with Vitamins A to D
It is his heart that I am in Love with, fearless as the swordsman of my photograph
In adversity’s maw and the chaos of the world, he braves forward, brazen and tough
A Lionheart strong and tender, think not he is a dweller of fantasy, afraid of stage-fright
A Noor to equal mine, peak song of transcendence, O my Warrior of Light…

EPILOGUE: Hats off to the spooky but deliciously felicitous timing of Facebook’s posting behaviour because I have just stumbled on Britain’s most famous comedic treasure, the lovable rogue and rascal of the streets, whose heart always gleamed of the purest gold, I am proud to give You, ‘Del Boy’! In his trademark silly baker boy hat, yukky faux pas and bright red turtle-neck jumper, sporting one of my incense sticks – I hope, the chap notoriously associated with countless accounts of rib-tickling antics, says it best. I’ll let You discover his quote for Yourself. Dare to face me? Giggle, giggle, toes a-wiggle… :))

Hard On The Outside, Soft On The Inside

‘Hard on the outside, soft on the inside’ is the best way to describe my bro, Sambo
An Akido expert, a Bruce Lee fan, bringing down bad guys – a chop suey show!
But if there is one weakness in this superhero that I shall never be successful to cleanse
It is that of all the people I know Sambo is the shyest in front of my lens…!

EPILOGUE: My brother and I are both genuine addicts of martial arts films, I would not be surprised one bit if we were to discover that we had the complete films of Jackie Chan in our entertainment vault! It is both our belief – although he is more reticent in admitting it – that every hardcore chap or chapette comes with a mandatory heart of marshmallows. If You are disbelieving my words then I suggest You click on the Link below! Paddington’s request is still pending… :))

The Fragrant Spells Of My Poetry

I sit by my desk in light summer evenings embraced by the nymphs of sepia sun
A wood fairy lifts from my pen, the pen and incense become as One
Eaglewood spirit whose breath mimics memories of pasts that cannot be kept
A breeze of Tibetan cedar, flecks of Japanese plum suddenly swept
White paper grows, I can conjure cloud mist kingdoms beyond my Home
I, Your Poetess, the scintillating bosom of every letter’s foam…

EPILOGUE: You asked for a poem about my curious incense collection and as I was at the mercy of the tyrannical force of tease from everything, including the voice of the midday sunshine over my rooftop, the concerted protest had me cornered and thus the aforementioned poem came to life. Poetry is Life and You do not need to be a master hand at the pen to appreciate its world of complex simplicities and simple complexities! Giggling away again, I do apologise! Spend Your day penning a little something for me, no need to send it on here, I am rather adept at reading things from afar. Click on the Link below and have a chance to travel back in time and witness how a single tube of ink can sow the seeds of goodness into the world…  :))

The Heart Of My Father

After lengthy time spent outdoors completing various errands for the household, which took me longer than expected for the simple fact that the small community of my town means that it is certain that you are bound to meet a friendly face along the way for a cheeky slice of chat and giggles, I returned home and decided to take a relaxing stroll through the garden. The summer rains had unleashed a sweet potion of crystal waters on the heads of every flower and leaf that I could not resist to rush back into the house and grab my trusty electronic companion, Lumiere. I could actually hear him pleading me that he wanted to be of service so that the two of us could disperse out to the world the beauty that surrounded my Home. I am sure it will reach You and become the inspiration of the story behind the smile You are smiling right now… :))

I present to you a cheerful red lady growing on one of our fruit trees. It was planted by my Abba (Father) about five years ago. He was always the maverick when it came to the craft of gardening, ambition often overriding realism that once he even dared to plant a mango tree in front of an audience of myself and my Amma (Mother), both of us nodding our heads in frenzied dismay, knowing fully well that it would never grow. Cynicism was not in his dictionary. He marched on ahead! That tree did not quite make it, but this one did. The juices of the sky desperately cling on to body of the fruit, juice seeking juice, juice seeking the Unknown. My dear Abba, I write about you even to this day  – what greater testimonial do I need for believing that the Soul never dies…

EPILGOUE: My mate Sara, a professional photographer, recently scooted off for a wedding shoot. When I landed on this dreamy photograph today I laughed fondly, the words on the glasses perfectly captured the relationship that had existed between my parents! I have good reason to conjecture that YOU, in particular, will be warmly satisfied by this image! You’ll know why when You read the WORDS. Giggle, giggle… :))

Storytelling In Pictures: A Special Ed Art Exhibition

Ladies, Gentlemen and Children I have the great pleasure of presenting to You
The last of our gifted students with her palette of wonders, a crowning debut
Bright and happy colours are the dews that drip from her paintbrush
She’s a shy little lady, why, just glance at that scarlet blush!
She brings a message to You all, “Live like the eighth colour of a rainbow”
Bring joy to others in any way You can, don’t be a grumpy rhino!
And when Life gives You Oranges, cook up some marmalade jam for all
While telling stories round campfires, let the forest be Your dance hall…

EPILOGUE: Today marks International Tiger Day, a collective effort to raise awareness of one of the most majestic creatures of our planet yet whose survival at present is endangered by the ever continuing conflict between humans and wild tigers as both fiercely compete for habitation and resources. The tiger has been poetically esteemed as an animal of cunning prowess, a fearless hunter and a vivid demonstration of the inimitable artistic palette of Mother Nature. Born under the star sign of Leo, I am naturally drawn to the cats of the wild and could it be sheer coincidence or another neat proof of harmony that one of my most beloved of sentinels of the forest happens to be blessed in plentiful brushstrokes of the most hypnotic application of marmalade jam… :))

The Naughtiest Munchkin!

She is the quietest of the two sisters, always willing to help prepare tea
But her Mumsy has revealed in secret a freaky revelation to me:
Though our little madam is sweet-tongued, polite and a darling blessed with a face of sacred dome
She mirrors me in everyway possible, for she’s the naughtiest prankster at home…!

EPILOGUE: In my last whimsical article my friends and I, each unashamedly topping the league boards of national naughtiness, even in our grand old age, returned to the shores of the Isle of Wight, after our undersea adventure, holding a handsome bag of Orange treasures! You saw both my ‘mermaid’ mates in the photograph, with trophy smiles on their faces, but as per usual I was absent, hidden behind the portal of the lens. Well, you are in a spot of spiffing luck because Facebook has once again delivered and vindicated my Visions! Click on the link to see an artist’s impression of me, garbed in garlic white, stood in the middle of an English country road in the golden hour, hair still believing that it is underwater and pitifully dropping most of my Oranges because You have arrived, smugly leaning against an old tractor. The burning question is, WHO are You…? :))

Diaries Of An Island Girl: Ahoy There! We Found Treasure!

Might I take the liberty of assuring You that us three girls have legs to moor us to ground
But on this particular occasion we dipped beneath waters, searched without sound
Three mermaids on a quest to retrieve five gifts of Orange quality
Undiscovered by sailor men, we conquered intrepidly
Circled round jagged rocks, the armour of seahorses on maiden skin
Songs of fishermen bellowed deep down, caught echoes against our fin
An underwater fountain opened, cobalt blue light showed five Orange balls
Hastily we rushed at them, no time to spare for calls
Victory shimmered in our brine blood, our heads rose back to shore
Citrus joy spilled forth from hearts, O what did our eyes saw!
Do not be glazed, what we present are not trinkets of insignificance
The number ‘5’ on a ring linked to an Orange circle is no coincidence
If Magic is in Your blood, Your imagination shall soar like the richest monsoon shower
A Synesthetic eye sees gold in dust, an Orange Kadam flower…

EPILOGUE & NEWS:
Whereas my account of lost treasure discovered is of the fictional variety, news has just been released of a real-life case of ancient treasure resurfacing once again after a span of thousands of years! Quite close to my home town of Winchester, Avebury is famed for its largest collection of European Neolithic stone circles – three rings to be precise – whose function is still the cause of heated debate amongst scholars and archaeologists. In the article that follows the link below, it reports the finding of houses on the site, potentially those that were lived in by the construction workers of these enigmatic stone circles. Mr Snashall adds, “I could count the number of middle Neolithic houses that have been found on the fingers of one hand.” FIVE houses, I take it then! The photograph provided by the BBC is as candid as you can get: Fieldworkers engaged in backbreaking labour for the pursuit of historical knowledge wonderfully canvased by a RED makeshift gate and my beloved rolling hills of green-green England… :))

Proud Teachers Off To Watch Shakespeare – A Special Ed Production!

Moments before the spectacular, spectacular production of my playwright guru, Mr Shakespeare
Performed by our Special Ed students at the Theatre Royal, to end this fine academic year
Us teachers gathered round, pat each other on the back for a job very well done
And every student thus shines, certified star each and each a Number One!
Asperger’s, Autism, Down’s Syndrome none did stop those chaps from rising to the stage
Hope is not bird in a house, it is a primary phoenix, an Orange sonata in blaze
And in the small print stir the wavelengths of Krishna, the TARDIS and the green fruits of knowledge
See, our prestigious acting company is called ‘The Blue Apple Theatre’ – magical, You’ll acknowledge…

EPILOGUE & NEWS: Did I KAT-those tractor thieves, whose rampant naughtiness fizzing in their fingers has led many a farmer to toss and turn tonight, blighted by worry about how they will cope without the power horse of their industry? Well, it turned out that one of those tractors belonged to a certain male Doctor who has mastered the art of, what was thought to be previously believed impossible – Time-Travel! He is quite an old chap these days but I find him terribly alluring so what could I do but invest some of my Magic into a highly-structured search and retrieval plan. After a few scrambles with the villains, one of whom has permanently lost their wig thanks to the Sonic Screwdiver’s precision laser technology, the pair of us successfully relocated the tractors to their original home. More are still to be found but we have decided to leave that for another day! Click on the link below for what the good Doctor treated me to: a crime-busting, time-travelling blue teapot garlanded with a ring of hearty biscuits! Yummy, yummy in my tummy!!! Giggle, giggle…  :))

Freeze! You Are All Under Arrest!

News has just leaked in that British tractors are the object of affection
For crooked eyes, thieves who steal and sell them off with no objection
How dare they?! What grand impudence! Rudeness that cannot go unmissed
Tractors are important to me, for a future scene in which my Visions are kissed
So stomped in my Special Ed student, a debonair specialist in detainment – a true gem
Intelligence gathered from Interpol quick, behold a composite of all six of them!
Maintain vigilance, keep your eyes peeled, should you see them prowling about
These tractor thieves are cunning as fox, try not to be tricked out
For they’ll appear FROZEN to you, statues lifeless, beckoning you to move on
Cuff their hands on the spot, waste not a second otherwise they’ll be GONE..!!

EPILOGUE & NEWS: This light-hearted and jester-jingling piece was inspired by what I watched on the BBC News this morning. How dreadfully wretched that thieves have nothing better to do than to smuggle out of the country my beloved crown of the countryside, the trusty old tractor! I could not believe my ears as I listened to the newscast! Dear Destiny, please be as kind as to ensure that we have an ample supply of tractors in the future because I am expecting a very SPECIAL encounter by the doors of one… :))

Big Up To Girl Power!

My family is built on matriarchal respect, commanded by strong women of all manner of heights
Our dreams and imaginations are winged waltzes of fire, pens blessed by the Northern Lights
We, who conjure breads to rise like dawn in ovens of cast iron machinery
Beading tales onto snow-white paper, attending Oxford University
Trekking mountains with friends, sipping tea under huts in lands unknown
We steer beyond creature comforts, forget the pedestrianised temperate zone!
I am what I am because of my Father, he taught me the cool edge of books and telescopes
That’s why heels and bags bore me grossly, I rather climb the steepest slopes!
And so I transmit knowledge and wisdom down to the newer generations as You can see
Flat shoes all the way, we’ve got adventures ahead – care to join us for a cuppa tea…?!

EPILOGUE: Oh I have no idea where to begin in expressing my gratitude towards Facebook in always sending me posts relevant to my photography and poetry! You, like me, must by now have converted to the belief that Destiny is an unbelievably formidable force that walks with those who have Faith in Her ability to assist and validate when the circumstance requires it. The following link shall direct you to the page of ‘The Book Thief’ and, hands down, that title is a beautifully economical description of my own notoriously buttery fingers, my hands love to hover with the hugest appetite over an untouched book yet to be treated to the rays of my inquisitive eyes! It is soon read and passed on!  In a skirt dyed of the flesh of Krishna and a scarf kissed by roads of crimson red, I stand with my humble staff, a shepherdess of short size who lives far from the anarchy of the big cities, with a Message….

P.S. Especially so for ONE person in particular… :))
